Join us this year as we celebrate a Century of foodservice as we inaugurate the incoming MRA/GKCRA incoming leaders of 2016 in the birthplace of Restaurant Associations.
It all started here in Kansas City a hundred years ago, in 1916, when three visionary restaurateurs, Myron Green, George Fowler, and Guy Taylor began meeting in the basement of Myron Green’s Cafeteria in Kansas City, MO. In 1917, the association organized a refrain from purchasing eggs to combat the rising cost from suppliers charging unfair prices. Their efforts received national attention and in 1919 the group launched the National Restaurant Association (NRA).
This one-of-a-kind event will honor the past and welcome the future with the inauguration of the 2016 GKCRA President, James Eddy of Popeyes Chicken and the 2016 MRA President, Buddy Lahl of Kingswood. We will also be recognizing the 2015 MRA Hall of Fame Inductee, the recipient of the Distinguished Service Award and all of the 2015 MRA Chapter Restaurateur and Company/ Purveyor of the Year recipients.
Additionally, we are delighted to announce that the National Restaurant Association (NRA) President and CEO, Dawn Sweeney, along with other NRA board members, will be in attendance!
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions! We look forward to hearing from you soon!
