Scholarships

ROBERT L. KEENEY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND

The Robert L. Keeney Memorial Fund was established in 1975 in honor of the late Robert Keeney, President of Putsch’s, Inc. of Kansas City. Robert L. Keeney Scholarships are awarded to outstanding undergraduate and graduate students in Missouri colleges. The scholarships are in the amount of $2,000 and $1,000 annually. Students are eligible to receive only one Keeney Scholarship.

Eligibility Requirements
The student must:
* Be enrolled in a four-year Foodservice Management program at a Missouri college or university, junior, senior or graduate level.
* Intend to make a career in the Foodservice industry.
* Maintain a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a scale of four. (Transcript to be forwarded by school registrar.)
* Remain in full-time status.
* Remain in good standing at the school selected.
* Show an active interest in the Foodservice industry.

 

GRANT IN AID PROGRAM

The goal of the Missouri Restaurant Association’s Grant In Aid Program is to provide financial assistance, on a merit basis, to students seeking a formal foodservice education in one of Missouri’s two or four-year colleges. These grants are available to any person who can show personal merit, intellectual capacity, a need for financial aid and a demonstrated interest in a career in the Foodservice field.

The MRA Grant In Aid Program is in the form of reimbursement of monies actually paid by the student for tuition, fees and textbooks, with total reimbursement not to exceed $350 per semester. A student may receive these grants on a continuous basis, subject to twice yearly review. Students must reapply each semester.

Eligibility Requirements
* Be enrolled in a formal Foodservice program, at a Missouri college or university.
* Intend to make a career in the Foodservice industry.
* Maintain a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a scale four.
* Remain in full-time status.
* Remain in good standing in the school selected.
* Show an active interest in the Foodservice industry by working at least eight weeks in a full time job in the Foodservice industry during the summer preceding the semester for which the award was made.
