Information Collected by the MRA
If you visit the MRA’s websites to browse, read, or download information, the MRA web server may recognize and log your IP Address but will not gather personally identifiable information about you (excluding information you may elect to send to the MRA via e-mail). The server is also capable of gathering information about what pages in its website you have accessed and the length of time you have visited a certain page. In addition, it can sometimes be determined how you reached the MRA website (such as by determining what search engine you used or whether an advertising banner ad or other link was involved.) This information is used by the MRA internally and with its consultants in connection with the MRA’s marketing efforts.
As an MRA Member, you must register on the MRA websites to access Members’ only benefits, materials and information, and to engage in any other activity that requires the MRA to keep track of Members’ records individually. The MRA collects this information to ensure the integrity of the services it provides to its Members and to retain accurate records for billing and shipping. The types of information the MRA may collect from registered users include email addresses, credit card numbers, and billing and shipping addresses. As an MRA Member, you can elect not to provide the requested information; however, you may not be able to take advantage of the MRA’s member services without disclosure of the requested information.
Personally Provided Information
You are not required to provide the MRA with personal information to visit its website. If you choose to provide the MRA with personal information through an e-mail message, form, survey, etc., the MRA will maintain such information only as long as is necessary to respond to your question or to fulfill the stated purpose of your communication.
Use of Personal Information
The MRA does not sell, trade or rent the information it collects from visitors to its websites. However, the MRA may share the data it collects with the National Restaurant Association, MRA program directors, and others who deliver services to the restaurant industry.
The MRA reserves the right at all times to monitor, review and/or disclose any information necessary to satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request or to cooperate with law enforcement and other authorities in investigating a claim of illegal activity.
The MRA does not direct the MRA website to children under the age of thirteen (13); the site is directed to a general audience. Individuals under the age of eighteen (18) should consult with their parent or guardian regarding visiting the MRA websites.
Customer must contact Missouri Restaurant Association by phone or e-mail regarding the nature of the refund request. If approved, refunds will be provided as a credit to the credit card used at time of initial payment within five (5) business days.
SECURITY OF INFORMATION ON THE MRA WEBSITES
The MRA website has security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse, or alteration of the information under its control. Our Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software is the industry standard and among the best software available today for secure commerce transactions. It encrypts all of your personal information, including credit card number, name, and address, so that it cannot be read over the Internet.
Other Security Issues
In addition to using SSL encryption to protect transmission of sensitive information online, the MRA uses care and discretion to protect the user-information that it collects. Information sent to the MRA via electronic communication is stored on its server behind a firewall and it not “web-accessible.”
No communication or transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be secure. The MRA will not be liable for disclosures of a visitor’s personal information due to interception, errors in transmission, or unauthorized acts of third parties. The MRA will work to protect information provided to it in electronic format; however, visitors provide such information at their own risk.
