As final exams conclude this week at most colleges and universities, it is appropriate to think of the group of 49 students who received financial assistance during the past academic year as a recipient of a scholarship awarded by one of MRA’s affiliated chapters. The scholarships are a result of various fundraisers held during the year, largely through the volunteer efforts of MRA members, and matching scholarship funds provided by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation.
It takes a special person to donate resources, both time and money, to further the career ambitions of a person whom they will likely never know on a personal level. Accordingly, as we pause to wish the MRA scholarship class of 2016 every success during finals week and beyond, let us also express our appreciation for that special group that makes MRA scholarships possible.
Missouri Restaurant Association – never underestimate its mission of service to the industry.
