GKCRA to present DOL overtime seminar

Kansas City area restaurants, hotels, and other businesses can learn the details of upcoming changes to federal overtime law recently released by the U.S. Department of Labor at an upcoming seminar to be presented by the Greater Kansas City Restaurant Association.   The Department’s Final Rule, which directs which salaried employees must receive overtime pay when working more than 40 hours in a workweek, was handed down onMay 18 and becomes effective December 1, 2016.  Employers should have a plan in place well in advance of the effective date.

Effective December 1, 2016, salaried employees earning less than $47,476 annually, or $913 per week, must receive time-and-a-half overtime pay when exceeding 40 hours in a workweek.
