GKCRA offers specially-priced ServSafe Manager classes on October 20.

Separate classes provided in Spanish and English

Member price: $50

The Greater Kansas City Restaurant Association is pleased to offer an exclusive benefit for its members.  On October 20 at Johnson County Community College, members can attend a ServSafe Manager class for the low price of $50.  ServSafe is the recognized industry leader in food safety education.  This course will prepare students to take and pass the Food Protection Manager Certification exam.  Topics covered include personal hygiene, cross-contamination, time and temperature, receiving and storage, food safety management systems, training hourly employees, and more.

Commenting on the addition of the Spanish class this year, GKCRA President James Eddy of Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen stated, “The Greater Kansas City Restaurant Association is committed to enabling the success and inclusion of all who seek opportunity within our industry.  One-fifth of front-line supervisors and managers are Hispanic in origin, and Hispanic-owned restaurant businesses grew 51% between 2007 and 2012.  GKCRA is proud to support this large and increasing industry segment.”

A grant provided by the Greater Kansas City Restaurant Association’s Educational Foundation allows both the Spanish and the English class to be offered for $50 to members.  The non-member price is $188.

A registration form for both classes can be accessed here.  Deadline for registration is October 10.
