Ordinance would increase KC minimum wage »

In late March, a member of the Kansas City, Missouri City Council proposed an ordinance that would have increased the City's minimum wage to $10 per hour effective September 1, 2015. The ordinance also proposed four annual increases of $1.25 each beginning September 1, 2017 until the KC minimum wage reached $15 on September 1, 2020.

ProStart teams from across the state were in Springfield on February 20 to compete in the 2015 Missouri ProStart Invitational. In separate culinary and management competitions, the students competed for $525,000 in scholarships and the right to represent Missouri at the National ProStart Invitational April 18-21, at Disneyland.

Missouri Restaurant Association members and friends gathered in Springfield on the evening of January 25th for the 2015 edition of the MRA President’s Inaugural Ball. In his inaugural address, delivered to a sold-out crowd at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, 2015 MRA President Bob Luke praised the volunteer spirit that has enabled the association to carry on its mission of service to the foodservice and hospitality industry. Noting the challenges the industry faces, Luke credited many of those in the audience for their past and current service and proclaimed his confidence that MRA would continue to rise to the challenge.
