Additional DOL overtime seminars announced

Presentations scheduled in Joplin, Springfield, and Jefferson City

McMahon-Berger

Noted labor law attorney Jim Foster will present three additional seminars to explain the U.S. Labor Department’s changes to federal overtime law.  The DOL’s Final Rule, handed down on May 18, 2016, marks a sea change in federal labor law.

Effective December 1, 2016, salaried employees earning less than $47,476 annually, or $913 per week, must receive time-and-a-half overtime pay when working more than 40 hours in a workweek.  Employers must have a plan in place well in advance of the effective date.  Failure to prepare and the errors that result will prove costly.

The additional seminars in Joplin, Springfield, and Jefferson City follow two excellent and well-attended seminars on the same subject by Mr. Foster in St. Louis and Columbia.  Attorney James N. Foster, Jr. is a partner at McMahon Berger, PC, a law firm dedicated to the exclusive representation of management in labor and employment matters for over fifty years.  Jim Foster has provided free guidance to MRA members through the MRA Labor Law Hotline for over two decades.
